How Often Should My Heat Pump Be Serviced?
We advise calling in an expert at least twice annually—once in the fall and once in the spring. When seasons first get warmer or colder, it’s a great time for heating and cooling service.
Your system operates year-round to keep you cozy. All of that work can lead to stress or even a repair call, especially if you don’t maintain it.
Heat Pump Maintenance List
You already know service is vital for an efficient, dependable heat pump. But what can you do to prepare for your upcoming tune-up? Here are some DIY things to do before your CNR Air Conditioning Inc technician shows up:
- Check your outside system. Your heat pump needs to be kept clear at all times to keep your home comfortable. Be sure there’s no clutter on or by your system. You’ll want about two feet open encircling your system in all directions.
- Clean up your system. Make sure your outside equipment is free of dirt. If you spot visible dirt, shut it down and slowly clean it with a low pressure hose. Remove pollutants inside your house by cleaning your vents.
- Regularly put in a new your air filter. Your air filter keeps your air fresh and your heat pump running efficiently. Remember to replace it every several months.
